Why Does the Screen Show “MCU Upgrading” When the Camera Powers On?

Symptoms

When you turn on the camera, you may experience one of the following issues:

  • The screen displays “MCU Upgrading” and the progress reaches 98%, then the screen goes black.
  • The upgrade repeatedly reaches 98% and starts over, creating a continuous loop.

Possible Causes

This issue is related to the camera’s MCU firmware update. It may occur when:

  • The camera is powered on using the START button after being completely powered off.
  • The MCU firmware version does not match the version recorded by the main controller.
  • The MCU firmware is incomplete or corrupted due to a failed checksum or serial number verification.

How to Resolve the Issue

If the camera gets stuck at 98%, the screen goes black, or the upgrade keeps repeating, please follow these steps:

Locate the Serial Number QR Code

Open the battery compartment and find the serial number (S/N) QR code in the upper-left corner.

Take a Clear Photo of the QR Code

Take a clear photo of the QR code and prepare a brief description of the issue.

Contact Our Support Team

Send us the QR code photo and a description of the problem. If the camera cannot start up properly, there is no need to check the firmware version in the settings.

Our support team will use the serial number to identify your camera and provide the appropriate official firmware and update instructions.

Follow the Update Instructions

Follow the instructions provided by our support team carefully. Do not disconnect the power supply or turn off the camera during the firmware update.

If your camera cannot start up, simply send us the QR code photo and describe the issue. We’ll help you with the next steps.
